Before founding her own practice, Ms. Simha built a distinguished career across both public and private sectors. She litigated cases involving the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act at a leading New York special education law firm. She later served as an attorney-advisor at the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights, enforcing federal civil rights protections in education. Ms. Simha has also successfully appealed health insurance denials, gaining critical insight into the harmful impact that arbitrary determinations of "medical necessity" can have on patients and their families. Her passion for advocacy is rooted in both legal expertise and lived experience. In addition to her civil rights and special education work, Ms. Simha has practiced business litigation, where she drafted complaints, motions, and appellate briefs in complex federal and state matters. This experience sharpened her ability to approach legal issues from multiple angles and devise creative, strategic solutions to complex problems. Most recently, she served as investigative counsel for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Inspector General, further strengthening her capabilities in legal analysis and regulatory compliance. Ms. Simha earned her Juris Doctor from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she was a proud member of the Moot Court Honor Society. She also holds a Master’s degree in Education and Special Education from Hunter College, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Stern College for Women. Her multidisciplinary background allows her to deeply understand the educational and medical foundations of her clients' legal issues—bringing both compassion and precision to her practice.
